ACTIVITIES

SCHOOL FIELD TRIPS TO THE MUSEUM

Scheduled tours for school children include guides and didactic material especially designed to obtain the utmost educational benefit from each visit.

Levels for which we have especially prepared material include:

Preschool and kindergarten

Primary school

Secondary school

We have take-home didactic material available for both teachers and students.

We also offer the possibility of complementing your visit by creating your own piece on a potter’s wheel and experimenting with various other ceramic techniques.

CERAMICS WORKSHOP
Ceramics courses for all ages year round

Children: After-school program
-Tuesday and Wednesday 17:30 to 19:00h.

Adults:
-Tuesday and Wednesday evenings 19:30 to 21:30h.

Place: The Cantir Museum Workshop

WATER JUG FESTIVAL
On August 4^th, the Feast of Saint Dominic and the Major Summer Festival of the Village of Argentona with its origin going back the XVII century

The main events are as follows:

the setting out of hundreds of water jugs filled with water from the Saint Dominic Spring
The presentation of the "Water Jug of the Year"
Renewal of the "vot de poble", a vow made to Saint Dominic that originated the festival
Blessing of the waters of the Saint Dominic Spring
Children’s water jug games
Traditional water jug games: blowing water from the main spout, water jug head balancing races, etc.
Spectacular water jug lifting contest

INTERNATIONAL CERAMICS AND POTTERY FAIR
The most renowned ceramic fair and open-air market in all of Catalonia and one of the most notable events in Europe, with more than 80 craftsmen and women currently exhibiting.

Next Fair and Exhibition: August 4, 5 and 6th, 2007
Schedule: From 10 am to 10 pm
Place: Downtown Argentona
